    • Abstract:
This article reflects on the research behind the unequivocal statement that Geoffrey Chaucer lived at 177 Upper Thames Street found in Crow-Olson perpetuated in Derek Pearsall biography. According to the author with a brief history of the site of the Chaucer tenement, the said area was acquired by the City of London in 1953 and was turned into a park known as Whittington Gardens, which has no mentioned connection with Chaucer. To illustrate, several maps of the site are presented.
