    • Abstract:
This essay focuses on different poems of Don Coles, a noted poet. The author describes Coles' style of poetry-writing. The author first read the poetry of Coles at Harbourfront Centre on his visit to Toronto, Ontario. He reports that there were numerous proofs of Coles' intellectual curiosity, which were reflected in his poems, collected in "The Prinzhorn Collection." The author's conviction is that poetry, which closes itself off to the real life of the emotions, can mean precious little to any but a university few. It is also convicted that in "Landslides" Don Coles wrote one of the most powerfully moving poems of recent decades.
