- Abstract:
A critique is presented of poems such as "Goody Blake and Harry Gill," "The Old Cumberland Beggar," and "Simon Lee, the Old Huntsman" from the book "Lyrical Ballads" by William Wordsworth. The influence of conservative politician Edmund Burke on Wordsworth, New Historicist criticism of his poetry, and his interest in social reform and nature poetry are also discussed.
