    • Abstract:
The article discusses the history of playwright Bernard Shaw's Ayot St. Lawrence, England retreat, Shaw's Corner, after his death in 1950. It is said to have been maintained by the British nonprofit organization National Trust (NT), with the organization Shaw Society of England holding occasional theatrical productions on the grounds. Other topics include the use of an outdoor area as a stage for open-air productions, a dispute between the theatre group Ayot Productions and the NT, and plays put on by Michael Friend Productions starting in 2004. A timeline of plays at Shaw's Corner, including annual productions on Shaw's birthday, is also presented.
